1. Pharmacist needs to be on the team to direct the pharmacy.
  2. Never distribute outdated medications or previously prescribed medications.
  3. Counsel patients on the potential side effects. 
  4. Give clear administration directions appropriate for the patient.
  5. Know patient's drug allergies, medication interactions and pregnancy status.
  6. Dose medications closely especially for pediatric patients.
  7. Use medication labels in the local language and/or symbols.
  8. Discuss with medical examiners prior to the clinic how chronic illnesses (diabetes, hypertension) will be treated - health education/life style changes vs. medication with the possibility of no further medical intervention.    
  9. Learn alternative ways to treat conditions when medications are not available (i.e. oral rehydration solution, vinegar douche, peroxide for ear wax removal, etc.)
