HCM's Beverly Corbett Passes Away
We mourn the loss of one of our own--Beverly Corbett, wife of Rev. Doug Corbett, missionaries with HealthCare Ministries. She passed into eternity the morning of April 28 after being in a coma for over two weeks following a brain stem stroke.
Beverly leaves behind a legacy of faith and intercession. She was always quick to pray for any need and to reflect God's compassion for others. Her unswerving faith and devotion were an inspiration to all who knew her. She had a heart full of love for her family, compassion for the lost, and devotion for all who called her friend. Her smiling face and jovial humor will be profoundly missed. But we rejoice in knowing that she is now whole and in the arms of Jesus.
Beverly and Doug were married in 1972 while attending Central Bible College. They held pastoral positions in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri before answering God's call to be missionaries to Africa in 1985. They went to Sierra Leone for four years where Doug taught at the Assemblies of God Bible College in Freetown. They transferred to South Africa in 1989 to be involved with church planting, evangelism, and Bible school training. In 1995 they began to work with Africa's Decade of Harvest for a project called Tabernacle Evangelism. They transferred to Convoy of Hope in 2006 and came to HealthCare Ministries in 2010 to work on the Ministry Development team. They have three married daughters and several grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to HealthCare Ministries to 521 W. Lynn St., Springfield MO 65802 or by making a secure online payment.
