Team returns from Bangladesh
bangladesh_bob.jpg HealthCare Ministries disaster relief team returned from Bangladesh after responding to the destruction of Cyclone Sidr which claimed 3,500 lives.  The trip was a joint venture with the Bangladesh Assemblies of God to offer medical care and disaster assessment to remote areas that had yet to be reached by the government.

The team included HCM director Bob McGurty, Rick Salvato, and Dr. Bill Graham of Springfield, MO.  Rev. Prasanta Ray, a divisional chairman of the Bangladesh Assemblies of God, also traveled with them to encourage churches that had suffered damage from the storm.

For six days, the team set up a clinic, nearly each day in a different location.  Some locations were so remote that they had to travel by a boat through marshes to reach them.  Over 700 patients were seen in the clinics, a number suffering trauma injuries from the cyclone or having lost a loved one in the disaster.  At the end of each day of clinic, the team held evangelistic services to encourage the people and to share Jesus.
